Just a note

A note I put on the Mercedes with handicapped stickers parked way to close to my driver door.
Normally I would not have such a reaction, but considering there were only 4 cars in a 50 car parking lot, and they parked so close I couldn't get in easily, I had a reaction. Then I heard my loving wife's voice in my head, and thought about Karma...hence the note.

Apparently I dumbassed up the spelling of Karma as well.
I also showed him where the dent would have been.

Racism

No pictures for this...just a thought dump.  If you want pics and babes and such...click the MBPL banner and surf from there.

Racism seems to be the subject of the last couple years, and I feel I need to get some thoughts off and out.

My Background to start...I grew up in Tampa, FL in the 70's and 80's.  My high school was somewhere around 65/20/15 W/B/Hispanic/other.  The neighborhood I grew up in was mostly white suburbanites with about 4 black families in that specific area. The next area West of us by 2 miles was Hispanic and 4 miles West mixed all races. Tampa has it's own fair version of the ghetto/projects, whatever you wish to call it. The worst of those areas were about 30 mins from where I grew up.
My best friend from 3rd grade on, is a black man born in Nigeria and moved to the US right after. He is one of the most brilliant people I know to this day. He grew up in white suburbia with me. The reason I feel I was not as sheltered as people might think, was from many visits to very low income areas selling cars with my father (his second job).  He sold inexpensive used cars and tended towards lower income areas because they were easier to sell $1200 cars to.

From 18-24 I lived a block from the projects/ghetto, it was all I could afford working as a Pizza driver. I heard the occasional gunshot a few blocks over.
Since then I have not had to live near that drama.

In short I am comfortable with myself and my thoughts, I have never considered myself racist at all. Not because of my friend or sheltered childhood, but because it never has been about race with me. It is ALL about stupidity and idiots.

Up until today these are my beliefs.

I work with a man who I will call 63 because he is 6'3" as am I. We are both large guys, I am a little over a decade older than him. He is American and black, if you have to choose a political correct term I will use. Since he is born in America and black that makes him American.  My friend from Africa and one or two other co-workers, are the only true African-Americans I have met.  I don't call my wife an English-American, or myself Irish-American, so why are they African-American...to say that term is implying black. - Different discussion involving "if we want equal rights then why do we have to label on everything"

Anyway... 63 and I have had at least 4-5 good discussions on race and what we believe is the truth about racism. I enjoy talking to him openly and neither of us has raised a voice or lost a temper. Amazing how easy it is to have adult conversations when everyone has an open mind. We have quite a few different opinions, and hear each other out. The one opinion 63 spoke today that finally hit home (while discussing the SC killing) was about "fear" and being afraid of police. He has mentioned that a few times during our talks and I never paid it much heed. Until today. I spewed some crap I read on the internet a month ago..."the police have killed more white people than black"
After further research I found this to be technically true, but not when you weigh in population percentages, which makes it wrong.

The scary fact I found, was a 2002 study from the American Journal of Public Health from 1988 - 1997 the death rate due to legal intervention was more than 3 times higher for blacks than for whites.

I immediately sent an email stating I was wrong.  That and seeing the graphs of violence recorded just from the 50's on, made me think even farther. No wonder there is fear, fathers and grandfathers, and even great grandfathers lived during these times, that you would be truly terrified to have anyone let alone law, have a gun and authority.

Before the 60's how hard was it to get away with murder? Even easier in the South (I believe Django touched on this fact). By today's day and age in 2015, murderers are being caught, information passed across the country at light speed. In 1948 they would be hard pressed to know who did it, and tell other towns let alone a nation. My father was born in 1945, if he was black and grew up somewhere near Boondocks, TN or BFE, GA then I would have some internal deep fears as well, even if he didn't teach that. You pick up traits from your parents and grandparents, that they may not realize.

Trying to imagine how it would be to live in the South, from 1600 until the 80's and 90's, as a black man, it had to be terrifying. It will take generations and lots of time to remove that fear. I believe I have a much better understanding now. Since I have lived in TN for 20 years, I still have fears of certain areas and towns as a 6'3" white boy. Thank you 63 for opening my mind a little more.

I only dump my thoughts like this for two reasons...a tribute to 63 for being an open minded friend, and hopefully other people may start to view things a little differently and see things from both sides.

For all of the people of all races who act stupid or with violence, whether it is against race or just because you are mean...think twice before you act! Otherwise you hurt everyone.

I believe "racism" is a product of fear to begin with. Fear of the unknown back in the day. That fear festers over years and years and the results are the violence we see in videos now.
All people in the past are guilty of unknown fears, but this is the time where information is fully available to us, there are far less unknowns now. Let us use the information age in a non-violent way to eradicate the fears and "racism" to focus on what is entirely most important...

Ridding the world of stupidity!

Bring back common sense!
Bring back common sense!
Bring back common sense!
Bring back common sense!
Bring back common sense!

He needs a boat!

I feel I have to tug on your heart strings for a minute.

Here is a pic of my stepson and me from last Summer.

When he found out we could not afford a boat last summer, he came at me with a steak knife.  Fortunately he only grazed my right eye.
Then in sheer frustration he ran into the bathroom and tore over half of his face away!

Summer is almost upon us and I am scared!  I know he wants a boat this summer.
I am scared!
A little about my stepson:
1. He suffers from a very bad case of  nooutsideitis due to continual Xbox use.
2. He plays fishing games on the console, wishing he could fish for real and be a real boy.
3. He does not even remotely understand the concept of the girls he may meet on the water.
(if he did, he would tear the rest of his face off!)
4. Mid-puberty....nuff said

He needs my help and guidance!

If he had a boat, we would be  forced to communicate.
I am  willing to suffer through this for the  rest of the world, (take  one  for the team) so that he may learn from me and become a  helpful member of society.

He may  just learn about Nature...Girls....Fishing....Life without a  Console, and .......... Lord help us, he may accidentally get a  smidge of common sense.

So please, help us help him!!!

One less adult without a job in 10 years, if you donate and help  now!

Justin Bieber Roast

Not really a fan, but I do like his retort..

And what would any guy, between 18-21, do if they had 200 million...?
Hmmm, what is the largest pressing thought on guys between 14-30?
Go find as many sex partners as he thought could wear him out, and go crazy until he was down to about 150 million, then limit himself to maybe 2 at a time for the next few years.
Then, maybe, mayyybeee...start thinking about the music career again.
I would venture to say, that most of us men would have done way worse things, if we had 200 million at 18.
Pretty sure I could have made that money keep me satisfied for life,
and would have just showed the press the finger.
But that is just me.
Seems we all forget what it was like at 18, especially the media.

An epiphany

I had an epiphany on the way to work this morning...

If somebody gave me a time machine and said
"you have 30 minutes to go back in time to tell yourself something, and your past self will believe you"
The following came to mind....

I would love to think the noble thing, go deep, and think of a way to save someones life or whatever...no I am way more selfish then that, I thought of ways to make myself suddenly rich.

But then, the truth hit very hard.

I can NOT go back in time and tell my younger self any stock tips from the last 29 years. I can quickly think of a couple handfuls of ones to tip off to my former self without a lot of research. Microsoft, Google, etc... But here is the real problem, my younger self never had any money to invest.  So even if I had a hot tip from the future, it would not have made a difference.
Sure you can say "you only would have needed a couple thousand to invest."
Exactly!, past self would not have succeeded if he only needed a couple hundred at most times, and I have not got the time to calculate what investments I could time up with the brief weeks I had a comma in my checkbook.

So in light of that thought I had to rethink my time travel question again...

I would go back about 2 weeks ago and tell myself lottery numbers, only 2 weeks because I would not have collected yet, and I would like to experience that and everything else from then on.
(no matter the size of the lottery- I am pretty sure I could survive on 6-10 million or more)
Sadly it would be the only investment I could have afforded.

It is here that I will insert my nobleness:
Only two weeks ago for the reason I already said and also, my younger self obviously was not ready for any money, let alone big money.
Now at my current age would be a pretty great time for it, and to appreciate sharing the money with my wife, and giving each of our kids about 20 bucks and listen to them whine as I climb into my motorhome and shut the door.

While we are driving cross country we then will find some noble things to do.

Your'e such a FAG!

If the title of this post offends you....move on to a different blog. cya, you don't need to read any further.

I have to post another of my little rants.

I am so tired of this face I see every time I use the word FAG or Faggot around a certain person or two.

Like clockwork, if I use the word, this lemon pucker face shows up.
GET OVER IT!
I am not using the word fag to describe a homosexual, I do not believe I ever have. But I do believe I have used the word FAG since I was old enough to be called a fag by friends and brothers.  From then on I have used the word for over 35 years. Yes, male friends back in the 70's 80's and some of the 90's called each other fags.  I know this must come as a shock to certain people but it is a word used a lot in camaraderie. Best friends can call each other FAG and not read into it.  Fathers (with a good relationship with sons) can call their son a fag and not read into it.  Brothers too.  It is a word nothing more.  Just because I use a black crayon to color a picture of black coffee does not make me a racist because I used the word black.

Louis C.K. sums it up the best I have heard anyone describe it.

Political correctness is such a handicap of society now. As I get older, I am offended by political correctness, so how can we fix that, to be politically correct to not offend people who hate political correctness?  (I will avoid the 14 million examples of stupid political correctness until a later rant)

STOP BEING A FAG WHEN I SAY THE WORD FAG!!! YOU FAG!

Microsoft Band

Nice and well done ad, but really not even close to accurate.
Everyone still looking at their wrist instead of phone, and would be awkward more often than not.
I am not sold on this at all, and didn't Apple already come up with this with the iPhone 6 as an accessory?

Solution would be to unplug once in a while and pay attentions to your kids, or life happening...not shrink it around your wrist.
Kind of funny how I am on a computer saying to unplug...what a hypocrite, now I have to blog about the author of this blog being a hypocrite, which then means that article would be hypocritical and....
(head explodes)

Bowllet the Hybrid of all Hybrid Mullets

Not only Bowl and Mullet...but the extreme hybrid of the mullet world, called the rat tail.  Very popular back in 83-86 I know a guy who had one in 1984, dyed blonde by use of lemon juice and Hydrogen Peroxide in the sun.  Two months later it was so brittle it just crumbled, so ended my rat tail, tale.

The Transition

The Perf Logs is switching to it's own domain.

http://www.malebovineperflogs.com

This will take a few days.... I know, the old time fans are saying "fuck off...you have taken weeks to a month with no posts, why do we give a shit if you take 2 days?"
I answer with this..."you fuck off...I am moving forward and going to be more diligent like I have been recently.  There are a couple exciting things coming soon...a new tattoo  ... I am also in the works for a couple other things I will reveal in time.

Thank You so much to my followers, I do appreciate the comments very much! I believe in 3 years I have only deleted two...one was Dan O having a bad day posting and I removed the blank...the other is not worth mentioning since I won't deal with obvious trolls.
That means I have a great audience!!! for all of my bullshit, at least I know I entertain a few.

Thanks
